Treasure hunt clues for kids
My daughter watches all the fun families on YouTube so a “treasure hunt” is something she’s been requesting.
We did this when we went to stay at a hotel (with a kitchen) in Wisconsin Dells a few weeks ago but I think this would work great for any time at home. The kids arrived to the hotel room and found the first written clue taped to the hotel room door upon entry.
The printable clues are below for you to use with your kids! I’m imagining this would be great for kids ages 4-9. The “treasure” was a pack of gum for my kids. Have fun!
Tip: Make sure the paper is small enough to hide completely so they can’t find them when looking for other clues.
Welcome clue #1:
“Welcome to the treasure hunt! If you do it just right, in a treat you will delight. Now is the time to start the thinkin’. You’ll find the first clue where you put the stinkin’.“
Location: place on front door or table after dinner or someplace to start after you’ve hidden all the clues!
Clue #2:
“I hope you are all feeling very merry! This is a spot you may find your tooth fairy.“
Location: Taped under the toilet seat (lol, is that gross? if you don’t want to do that just put it somewhere hidden on the toilet.)
Clue #3:
“Before you eat dinner you go here and give it a squirt, bubbles upon bubbles wash away the days dirt.“
Location: under the bed pillow.
Clue #4:
“You won’t have to think twice, here it’s always as cold as ice!“
Location: under the hand soap bottle in the bathroom.
Clue #5:
“I’m not the moon but I light up the night. In the darkness, I make it bright!“
Location: in the freezer.
Clue #6:
“In me some like to sing, if you don’t like to bathe, this is the next best thing!“
Location: interior side of a living room or bedside lampshade.
Clue #7:
“If you run out of things to do or places to go, get cozy, make some popcorn and enjoy a show!“
Location: taped to the shower wall.
Clue #8:
“If you’re making toast, you’re there almost. Keep looking where you’ll find a tasty turkey or roast”
Location: taped the backside of the living room TV.
Clue #9:
“This is it! The last clue. You worked together and made it through. In me you can see the world around; is it rainy, sunny, snowy or clouds? Take a peek and it will be found!“
Location: inside the oven.

Location: Behind the curtain in the living room. (we taped a pack of gum there for each kid, your treasure can be whatever you want!)
